Con – You could look like this:
Pro – It’s effortlessly cool.
Con – It’s trying really hard.
Pro – It will keep you warm and toasty. If you don’t want to resort to suffocating yourself in layers or drowning in a bulky coat or parka, a leather jacket will keep you warm with a more flattering fit.
Con – Decent leather jackets can be expensive … or at least out of the budget of a college student. Unless you plan on wearing it all the time, it might not be worth the buy.
Pro – Wearing your jacket all the time could be your thing. You’d look super cool, like John Travolta in Grease. (just that one. Not his other movies.)
Con – You’d probably end up looking like Fonzie.
Pro – Leather jackets never go out of style.
Con – Vegans would hate you. (Some people might consider this one to be a pro. Sorry vegans, but as they say, haters gonna hate.)
Pro – People will think you’re really cool. Because you are really cool. You have a leather jacket.
Con – People will think you’re a fraud. Once you open your mouth and someone realizes that you don’t know the first thing about rock n’ roll, or if they find out that you don’t own a motorcycle, or any moment when you accidentally slip and do or say something that is the antithesis of cool (which is, for most of us, inevitable), you’ll just become another letdown.
Leather jackets are totally cool, but pulling one off can be complicated. If you dream of following this iconic trend championed by the likes of Marlon Brando and Elvis Presley, you should take the time to consider which styles suit you best.
For the price of a good leather jacket, it’s a commitment that you should feel comfortable with.
With a little research and by weighing the pros and cons, you’ll be sure to find the perfect fit!
